I’m feeling pissy and hyper-critical

“He [Brennan Hawkins] had two thoughts going through his head all the time,” she said. “Toby’s always told him that ‘If you get lost, stay on the trail.’ So he stayed on the trail. We’ve also told him don’t talk to strangers … when an ATV or horse came by he got off the trail … when they left, he got back on the trail.”
Okay, so maybe they should have told the kid that it’s okay to talk to strangers when you are lost in the woods for 4 days and have no food, water, or shelter. The parents are lucky that Brennan was found alive since he was basically hiding from rescue groups.
The best thing is that after I wrote this blog entry I found this: a Fark.com forum on the same subject. Glad to know I won’t be the only person going to hell.
