26.2

Up until today the marathon that I’d mentioned before was just hypothetically happening. I mean, the marathon was definitely happening, but my running it was only a crazy idea that wasn’t real yet. That all changed when I got this today:

marathon welcome letter

Uh, oh shit. Let the training officially begin.

in which I run. a lot.

I tried to get into the 1/2, but wasn’t selected.

I ran my first full marathon about a year ago. Since that distance scared me, we did a run/walk. (Galloway method — see http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/walk_breaks.html)

Much less frightening, and we were able to hold a steady pace the whole way. We passed a lot of folks who ran out of steam.

    You can do it!

Even if you don’t want to run/walk, they have a good training schedule (http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/marathon.html)
